Thousands of Women to Promote Indian Culture by Running/Walking/Jogging in Sarees

The MG Vadodara Marathon, powered by ChargeZone, proudly announces the Federal Bank Saree गौरव Run 2025, a vibrant celebration of tradition, sustainability, and Nari Shakti (women’s power). This unique event will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, where more than 5,000 women of all ages will walk, jog, or run in sarees, embracing Indian culture while promoting health and unity.
This non-competitive fun run will wind through the heritage heart of Vadodara. Open to all women above 16 years of age, participants can wear their saree in any style, paired with comfortable bottoms and sports shoes. The sight of thousands of women flowing through the city’s main roads in six yards of grace is set to become an unforgettable symbol of pride, freedom, and strength.
Smt. Tejal Amin, Chairperson of the Vadodara Marathon, said, “I am thrilled by the energy and excitement among women for the Federal Bank Saree गौरव Run. The Vadodara Marathon encourages fitness at every level – individual, family, school, college, and corporate – in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s Fit India movement. The saree is our cultural ambassador to the world. On December 14, over 5,000 women of Vadodara will run together in sarees, showcasing our heritage while building sustainable habits and spreading awareness about climate change among one lakh students.”

Shri Sameer Khera, Co-Chairperson, reminded everyone that the 13th edition of the flagship international MG Vadodara Marathon is scheduled for 1st February 2026 and registrations are closing soon. Shri Nilesh Shukla, Director, said, “Women from every corner of the city – women’s organisations, religious groups, colleges, schools, fitness centres, working professionals, and our strongest pillar, homemakers – are joining this celebration of pride and tradition. We invite every woman in Vadodara to register and be part of history.”

Route: Khanderao Market Char Rasta → Bhagat Singh Chowk → Music College Road → Dandiya Bazar Char Rasta → Akota Bridge Char Rasta → Palace Gate → Back to Kirti Stambh Ground
