Before the MCD elections, AAP names observers for a “contest election in Kejriwal style.”
On Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) named observers for the upcoming elections for Delhi’s civic bodies.
The meeting’s moderator, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, told India Today that observers will make sure that padyatras, door-to-door campaigning, and public engagement occur in all wards. The recently chosen central observers will keep an eye on the entire campaign and report back to the central office.
The meeting included participation from all district chiefs, AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta, MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak, and Adil Khan. “The organisation has gained notoriety thanks to AAP in the MCD elections. A Kejriwal-style election must be followed by all candidates, it must be ensured by observers. Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign anthems should be played during events and speeches, “added Sisodia.
“The people should engage with the candidates so they can learn about their concerns. The candidates will compete in this [election] as a team, “Added he. AAP in charge in Delhi Gopal Rai has instructed observers to carefully consider the timeline and adhere to it exactly.
“Once you organise a Jan Samvad [public meeting] in a ward, follow it with a door-to-door campaign the next morning. You must complete the first phase of door-to-door interaction with Jan Samvad between November 17-22,” he said, adding that the second phase will commence on November 23.
