AAP wants to win over traders’ support and would provide a separate platform before the MCD elections.
As it prepares for the upcoming civic body elections in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will present a separate manifesto for the traders and organise 100 meetings with them.
According to Brijesh Goyal, head of the AAP’s trade wing, the party plans to meet with over 100 traders and trade organisations over the course of the next 15 days.
This occurs just weeks after Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, pledged in his ten pledges to eliminate the “inspector raj” and give other advantages to traders. Additionally, the party claimed to have fielded more than 30 business executives in the local elections. Each market will host between 2 and 5 meetings. Workers for the AAP will visit markets such as Khari Baoli, Naya Bazar, Bhagirath Palace, Sadar Bazar, Chawri Bazar, Kashmere Gate, Karol Bagh, Kamla Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Lajpat Nagar, Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Rohini, Shahdara, and Pitampura in order to solicit votes for the group.
The AAP’s trade wing will also publish a second manifesto with promises to open the shuttered stores and simplify the licencing procedure. The party’s trade section said in a statement that the manifesto would also address challenges encountered by women traders.
Elections for the 250-ward Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) take place on December 4, and the results are tallied on December 7.
