In a touching Instagram post, Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude and love for his wife, actress Anushka Sharma after India’s T20 World Cup victory in the Caribbean a few days back.
“None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ @anushkasharma,” Kohli wrote on Instagram with photo of the couple.

Earlier, Anushka Sharma was elated at the triumph as she took to Instagram to reveal how her daughter Vamika was concerned if all the Indian players who were crying after the win have someone to hug.
“Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on tv….. Yes, My darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!! ” Anushka wrote.
And in another post dedicated to Kohli, she asked him to have a glass of water to celebrate the title win.
“AND ….. I love this man @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home – now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this!” she wrote.
Having achieved his dream of winning the T20 World Cup, Kohli confirmed after the match that he’s retiring from the format at international level.
“This was my last T20 World Cup and this is what we wanted to achieve,” Kohli said in a chat with the broadcasters after the match. “One day you feel you can’t get a run, then things happen. God is great, and I got the job done for the team on the day it mattered. Now or never (that was my) last T20 for India, wanted to make the most of it. Wanted to respect the situation rather than force it.”
“This was an open secret, it’s time for the next generation to take over, some amazing players will take the team forward and keep the flag waving high,” he added.
