Vadodara, India – A local IT company, led by a female entrepreneur, has found itself entangled in a frustrating ordeal with ICICI Bank’s Diwalipura branch. Despite tall claims of ease for startups, the entrepreneur’s experience has been marked by misguidance, delays, and a complete disregard for her business needs.
The entrepreneur opened a current account with ICICI Bank in December 2023, expecting a smooth and efficient banking experience. However, the promise of convenience quickly turned into a nightmare. When she inquired about her debit card, which should have been issued within 10 working days of account opening, she was met with confusion and misinformation.
Bank officials at the Diwalipura branch repeatedly misled the entrepreneur, claiming that ICICI Bank does not provide debit cards to directors of private limited companies. This false information contradicted the bank’s actual policy, causing significant inconvenience and frustration.
Despite persistent follow-ups and attempts to clarify the situation, the entrepreneur has been unable to obtain a debit card. Nine months have passed since she opened the account, and the issue remains unresolved. This delay has not only hindered her business operations but has also eroded her trust in the bank.
The incident raises serious questions about the bank’s commitment to customer satisfaction and its ability to provide reliable services to startups. The entrepreneur’s experience highlights the need for improved training and awareness among bank staff to ensure accurate information and timely delivery of services.
As this unfortunate case continues, it serves as a cautionary tale for other entrepreneurs considering ICICI Bank. It is essential to be vigilant and to thoroughly research the bank’s policies and services before opening an account.
When we connected to the local branch manager Mr. Ashish Gupta , firstly he expressed his ignorance in this case and later accepted claiming it “MISUNDERSTANDING”.
These is a case of intentional case of misguiding a female entrepreneur and she is soon planing to take legal actions against the bank officials.
