Indian Army’s Chinar Corps demolished military infrastructure in Leepa Valley, Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), during Operation Sindoor, officials reported.

According to Indian Army estimates, rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure will take Pakistan 8-12 months.

A PTI visit to the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar, a forward village in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, revealed the extent of damage caused by the Indian Army’s response to Pakistan’s ceasefire violations in early May.

A senior Indian Army official told PTI, “We obliterated at least three posts, an ammunition depot, fuel storage, and gunnery, among other targets. The devastation will set Pakistan back 8-12 months, possibly more.”

Another official noted that Pakistan used heavy weaponry, including aerial platforms, to attack Indian positions but caused no damage. “Our Akashdeep radar system and air defense guns neutralized their aerial threats effectively. Our infrastructure remains unscathed, while theirs is in ruins,” the official said.

Officials confirmed that only active military structures in Leepa Valley were targeted to maximize impact, leaving vacant ones untouched.

Sources indicate that the Chinar Corps’ strikes killed 64 Pakistani military personnel and injured 96 during the second week of May.

A top Chinar Corps official emphasized, “Our retaliation follows a 1:3 ratio—every Pakistani ceasefire violation is met with three times the force.”

On May 7, under Operation Sindoor, a 25-minute strike near Muzaffarabad in PoK targeted nine terror camps in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Intercepted communications revealed a Pakistani commander, hiding in a mosque, ordering troops to prioritize saving lives over protecting assets, with one message stating, “Save lives first, offices can reopen later.”

Pakistan attempted retaliatory strikes on Indian bases on May 8, 9, and 10, but both sides ceased hostilities on May 10 after four days of conflict. — PTI
