Assam: 3 youth killed in road mishap in Silchar
GUWAHATI, JAN 1: In a tragic incident, three youths died in a road accident in Assam’s Silchar on Saturday night.
According to reports, the accident took place on Kalain road when they lost control of their bike and hit a tree.
The youths have been identified as Akshay Kumar Biswas, Swapan Das and Kishan Gurung.
Sources said the youths were returning after attending a New year party.
“The youth died on the spot. They were taken to the hospital but doctor declared them brought dead,” said an eyewitness.
It is worth mentioning that every year such cases of an accident are reported on New Year’s eve.
“During New Year, road accidents are common. But the incidents of accidents cases are decline following the strict restrictions imposed by police,” said a police source.
Besides Assam, such cases of an accident on New Year’s eve were also reported from other states where people lost their lives.
Meanwhile, Assam police have taken strict measures to control road accidents during New Year.
