Assam: Factory worker dies after getting stuck in machine in Dima Hasao
GUWAHATI, DEC 8: In a tragic incident, a technician of a concrete factory identified as Ashok Borsaikia died after getting stuck inside a machine at a factory in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
The incident took place on Dec 7, 2022 at a concrete factory located at Panimur in Dima Hasao district when Borsaikia tried to check a concrete crushing machine following a technical snag.
“He initially checked the machine from outside, but later went inside to fix the technical glitch. After getting inside the machine, he got stuck and eventually died due to suffocation,” said a source.
The body was recovered and sent to Haflong civil hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, questions are now being raised regarding the safety arrangements for the workers at the factory following the tragedy.
