Assam: GMCH doctor found dead in her room in Guwahati
Guwahati, Feb 19: In a tragic incident, a female doctor of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was found dead under mysterious condition at her residence in Hatigaon, Guwahati on Sunday.
The decesaed doctor has been identified as Arohi Sarma.
According to reports, the decesaed doctor was serving as an assistant professor of the GMCH in Guwahati, Assam.
Police said the doctor’s body was recovered from the room of her daughter under mysterious circumstances.
“The doctor might have died on Saturday night, when other members of the family were asleep in other rooms of the house. We have sent the body for post-mortem to the GMCH to ascertain the reason of her death,” a police official said.
According to reports, the deceased doctor was suffering from mental health issues.
The husband of the deceased who is also a doctor is being questioned by the police in connection with his wife’s suicide.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway.
