Gujarat elections: A BJP candidate from Vansda was assaulted, and Congress supporters are being held responsible
Piyush Patel, a BJP candidate running in the Vansda district for the Gujarat Assembly, is said to have been attacked on Thursday by unidentified assailants.
When his vehicle was vandalised, Piyush Patel was in the Vansda village of Jhari. He was attacked, and was hurt in the head.
Anant Patel’s supporters, according to the BJP, are responsible for orchestrating the assault.
One of Gujarat’s 182 Legislative Assembly districts is Vansda. It is a portion of the Navsari district and is only open to applicants from Scheduled Tribes.
Gujarat will have two rounds of voting on December 1 and 5. Vote tallying will happen on December 8.
