Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually launched the world’s largest Covid-19 immunisation programme at 10:30 am to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in India where over 1.5 lakh people have lost their lives so far.
Almost three lakh beneficiaries from the priority groups will be administered the vaccine at over 3,006 vaccination sites spread all over the country today and as per reports around 100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated at each session site.
Healthcare workers get first jabs as India rolls out nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive
The mega vaccination drive against COVID-19 which the Centre said is “probably the beginning of the end” of coronavirus has begun across the country today with over 3 lakh healthcare workers to be inoculated on the first day. The fight against Covid-19 is on the road to victory, said Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday while hailing the launch of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination, adding that the country has a robust system for the immunisation process.
