
Unlock 3 guidelines: MHA removes night curfew; schools, colleges, cinema halls to remain closed
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh guidelines for Unlock 3.0 that will come into effect from August 1. Yoga institutes, gyms to open; schools, colleges, cinema halls to remain closed till August 31.
As per the fresh guidelines, night curfew has been removed. Yoga institutes and gymnasiums will be allowed to open from August 5. Schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till August 31. The use of Aarogya Setu application will continue to be encouraged.
There shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. No separate permission, approval or e-permit will be required for such movements.
The lockdown shall, however, continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till August 31, 2020. All activities, except the Metro rail services, cinema halls and swimming pools, shall be permitted outside containment zones.
Within the containment zones, strict perimeter control shall be maintained and only essential activities allowed. “These Containment Zones will be notified on the websites of the respective District Collectors and by the States/ UTs and information will also be shared with MOHFW,” the MHA notice said.
The MHA notice said that the new guidelines issued today are based on feedback from the states and UTs, and extensive consultations held with related central ministries and departments.
