Under the lieu of annual donation event The United Way of Vadodara conducts Garba event, which is known as U way garba or United way garba . Gujarat ‘s finest garba faced a major protest from the participants due to sheer mismanagement and pebble ful ground, which created injuries in garbaholic feet on day 1.

Navratri was happening after two long years and barodians were all excited to play garba at their favourite venue – #UnitedWay. The ground had changed this year so there was already confusion over parking, entry and exit routes.
The participants were asked to park their vehicles 2kms away from the garba ground and their was no assistance available in terms of directions . Again the parking charges were taken by the management through an extert agency, and that too high in comparison to routine parking charges.

Some how the participants reached the venue, and they were horrified. The entire ground was full of pebbles and stones. Forget playing garba, it was tough to even walk properly for a minute without some stone piercing their feet on ground.

Who? Just who thought that people will play garba on a ground full of stones!! The participants stopped playing garba midway as their feet got got bruised.. Many participants walked away as they got injured.. These resulted to severe protest by participants who stood in mid of venue and started shouting pathar….. pathar and agitated against United Way management.

If all this wasn’t enough, getting a bottle of water in food zone was a task. Under the pretext of exclusive rights to water vendor, the management kept just one stall of water for thousands of revellers. People had to push each other to get water!!

Add to it the poor parking facilities. People had to park their vehicles more than one or two kilometres away and walk on a narrow, badly lit and kuccha road to reach the ground.. As someone who has played garba at United Way for a long long time, it was the most horrible experience .

This all happened with participants inspite of pay Rs 4,800 for boys entry pass and 1300 for female entry pass.
