Flixbox Solutions LLP, the parent company of Skara, won the highly competitive Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025 in the B2B (Business-to-business) category at this year’s Startup Mahakumbh 2.0 held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 6th of April 2025.
Flixbox Solutions launched their first SaaS (software-as-a-service) Skara earlier this year and it revolutionised how businesses and video entrepreneurs launch their streaming websites. The company is projected to immensely impact technological development not just in Assam or NE India but entire India with their innovative offering in the true technological aspect. While conferring the award, Minister Goyal lauded the tech innovation from Guwahati and highlighted the importance of true tech startups like Flixbox in driving the country’s economy and growth at the global stage.
The award was presented to Flixbox Solutions co-founder Ankita Saikia and Uddipta Das by Shri Piyush Goyal, Indian Minister of Industry and Supply in the presence of actor Sonam Kapoor, founder of Boat and famed Shark Tank celebrity Aman Gupta and members of the investor community.
Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025 saw participation from over 2000 startups from across India out of which only five companies made it to the top 5 in each category. Flixbox Solutions secured the third position in the B2B category. According to Ankita Saikia, co-founder of Flixbox Solutions, this is a testament to the immense impact the company is set to make in the world of technology. “It is an extreme honour and gives our whole team in Guwahati the motivation to keep chasing greatness in their innovations, no matter the challenges we face-be it geographically or societally,” she said. With her 25+ years of experience in Sales and business operations, she co-founded the company with Porag Jyoti Gogoi and Uddipta Das.
“In an environment where age-old ideas like e-commerce are repackaged like great social-tech innovations and are called startups, we are proud to actually achieve the recognition from our central government for what we offer in the global domain of SaaS competing against tech giants like Google and Facebook,” said Uddipta. “Our vision is to make video delivery accessible and Skara is just the first step towards that which enables video businesses and entrepreneurs to launch video streaming apps and websites 100 times faster and economically than the others in this sphere.”
Flixbox Solutions launched Skara earlier this year and has onboarded entrepreneurs who are leveraging pre-recorded video content to deliver services to their viewers. With rapid development and their innovations, as per the company, they are set to conquer the projected $155 Billion global video streaming market.
