
India’s highest spike in 24 hours, 9996 new COVID-19 cases and 357 deaths
India on Thursday reported a total of 2,86,579 coronavirus cases with 1,37,448 active cases, 1,41,029 cured cases and 8,102 fatalities. The country registered the highest spike in new cases and deaths with 9,996 new cases of infections and 357 fatalities reported within the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry data.
While Maharashtra with more than 90,000 cases has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country followed by Tamil Nadu with almost 35,000 cases.
Maharashtra also has the highest death count followed by Gujarat and Delhi, more than 70 per cent of the deaths are due to comorbidities, the ministry’s website stated.
