Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The challenges posed by elephants came up during discussion of the 15th general meeting of Madhya Pradesh Tiger Foundation Committee held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at CM house on Wednesday. The CM said that all efforts shall be made for the welfare of wild animals.

Welfare of elephants living in the forest shall be also considered. He directed that grassland shall be developed so that elephants shall not reach human settlements in search of food. This tactic will also help in containing crop damage done by jumbos. The idea will also help in cementing co-existence instead of clash between humans and elephants.

Apart from this, wildlife tourism shall be promoted. It always remains a matter of excitement for tourists to see wild animals in open spaces and the state shall take steps in this direction. He also directed to establish rescue- cum-zoo as well. Forest officials informed in the meeting that a special action plan has been made to stop crop damage done by wild animals.

To prevent crops, Blue Bulls and Black Bucks will be translocated to some other places. A Robinson copter will be hired in this regard. thrice tenders were invited in this regard but to no avail. Now a letter has been written to the aviation department to get Robinson 44 helicopter or any other equivalent chopper. On getting the copter, work of translocating blue bull and black buck will begin immediately.
