Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the government is procuring wheat at Rs 2,600 a quintal now, but the farmers will get Rs 2,700 a quintal next year. Yadav made the statement in the House on Thursday when he was replying to the Governor’s address.

After the formation of MP in 1956, the Congress was in power up to 2003, but the BJP government did much more development works than the Congress, Yadav said. It was during the Congress rule that all the factories, which were in operation in the state before the independence, were closed; and the present government is paying each and every penny to the workers of those closed mills, Yadav said.

He said the government was finding a solution to the problem of quota in promotion of employees. “If we get the support of everyone, we will find a way out,” he said. If there are promotions, there will be vacancies in lower positions, so the government will be able to recruit fresh candidates, he said. He said the government would provide jobs to 2.5 lakh youths in next five years. He said 13 crore tourists flocked to the state in one year, and two national wildlife sanctuaries, Ratapani and Madhav National Park, were recently notified.

The Congress leaders have hunted tigers in Madhav National Park and ate them, and now, the BJP is releasing big cats into the park, Yadav said. Bhopal and Indore are being made metropolitan cities, and afterwards, the government will give status of metro cities to Jabalpur and Gwalior by including the surrounding areas of these two places. Like the Central government, the state will organise contests among districts for cleanliness campaign, he said. The Chief Minister said his government had closed down the transport department’s check posts which will function without men in the coming days. The government is working fast towards this direction, he said, adding that airports will be built in every 200 km and airstrips in every 150 km. The newly-built airstrips will be connected to the sports grounds so that they can be used for sports activities, too, he said. “Sanchi brand will never become Amul. An accord has been signed with the National Dairy Development Board, and the farmers will be given buns of Rs 5 for each litre of milk for increasing its production,” he said.

Ladli Behnas to get incentives

The Chief Minister said the government was giving Rs 5,000 to those who were working in factories under Ladli Behna Yojna. The government wants Ladli Behnas to earn Rs 13,000 and go beyond the limit of Rs 3,000.

Many are holding positions because of their fathers, aunts

The Chief Minister poked a fun at the opposition saying none of his family members are in politics. But many in the Congress are holding important positions because of their fathers and aunts, he said.
