As a result of the Supreme Court’s decision to approve the early release of the six individuals convicted of murdering former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Congress expressed its sadness and unhappiness on Friday. The defendants are currently serving life sentences in jail. Jairam Ramesh continued, “It is quite regrettable that the Supreme Court did not act in accordance with the spirit of India on this subject. Karti Chidambaram discussed the early release of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination suspects in an interview with India Today. “The rule of law should be inferred to anyone with a similar conviction,” he declared. There should be no issue if the law permits. But everyone in the same category must be subject to the law. Early release should not be a cause for celebration.
