Assam: Rain Rain August; National highways, tea gardens, houses all water-water

Guwahati: The rainy August has submerged the National highways, tea gardens and houses across the state.
Assam recorded a deficit rainfall of 28 percent in the week ending.
On the other hand the weatherman has predicted that the rainfall activities likely to increase in the second half of the month.
” It’s like never before. Too much rain has submerged my tea gardens. ” Reshab Sarma , manager of a private tea estate in Tinsukia district of upper Assam told OUR INDIA on Monday.
” Moisture incursions due to strong low level southerly and southwesterly winds from the bay of Bengal to North East India is very likely. Under its influence rainfall at many places to most places with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning is very likely over Assam region during the next 4-5 days .” An IMD forecast said.
In the last 24 hours , Lakhipur in Kachar recorded 110 mm rainfall, Silchar received 80 mm and some places in Tinsukia also received up to 80 mm rainfall.
An orange alert ( be prepared) has been sounded for August 22 and 23 .
Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and western Assam districts are more likely to receive heavy rainfall.
