Maharashtra CET Cell Implements Anti-Fraud Measures For 2025-26 Entrance Exams; Minister Patil Vows Strict Action

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell on Monday announced a series of measures to ensure the smooth conduct of entrance examinations for various professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the academic year 2025-26. The decision comes in response to complaints regarding fraudulent activities related to the examination process.

According to the CET Cell, two candidates reported incidents of fraudulent calls attempting to manipulate their application details for the upcoming MBA/Master of Management Studies (MMS) and engineering entrance tests. In light of these complaints, authorities have taken decisive action to prevent any malpractice.

A committee had been formed to investigate the allegations and recommend necessary security measures. The committee’s report, which has been submitted to the relevant authorities, suggests several key actions, including increased security measures at examination centres and conducting security audits.

In addition to these measures, an FIR has been registered against those involved in the fraudulent activities, leading to arrests. Officials have assured that strict legal action will be taken against individuals attempting to compromise the examination process.

Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil said, “The state government is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent entrance examination process. We will take strict action against anyone attempting to manipulate the system.”

The CET Cell has urged all aspirants to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes. A help-desk has been set up to assist candidates facing any difficulties during the online registration process. 

“We appeal to all students to prepare diligently and not be misled by any misleading offers or fraudulent calls. The CET Cell is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process,” stated an official from the CET Cell.

These measures aim to uphold the integrity of the entrance examinations and provide a secure environment for all candidates.
