Bharat Diamond Bourse Celebrates India’s 79th Independence Day
Mumbai | Maharashtra— The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), the world’s largest diamond trading hub, commemorated India’s 79th Independence Day with a grand ceremony marked by patriotic zeal, international participation, and heartfelt tributes to the city’s guardian forces.
The event opened with stirring patriotic verses, resonating across the gathering of diamond industry leaders, international representatives, and community members. The celebrations reflected both India’s cultural heritage and its growing stature in the global diamond trade.
Distinguished International Presence
The occasion was elevated by the presence of eminent international dignitaries, including Mr. Kobbi Shoshani, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, and Mr. Eko Santoso Junor, Consul–Economy of Indonesia in Mumbai. Also present was Shri Ramlal Ji, National Co-Incharge of the Sampark & Prasiddhi Department, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
“India’s journey of freedom and progress is an inspiration worldwide, and BDB plays a vital role in strengthening international economic ties,” remarked Consul General Shoshani.
Leadership at the Helm
The ceremony was led by Shri Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB, and Shri Kiritbhai Bhansali, Managing Committee Member of BDB and Chairman of GJEPC, along with other committee members. Their leadership continues to position BDB as a global benchmark for excellence in the diamond industry.
Tribute to Mumbai’s Guardian Forces
A poignant highlight of the event was the tribute to Mumbai’s three protective pillars — the Mumbai Police, Mumbai Fire Brigade, and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Their courage, discipline, and service were honored as an embodiment of resilience and commitment.
Special acknowledgment was given to Mr. Shirish Inamdar, Consultant – Security & Vigilance, and Mr. Samir Kumar Jha, General Manager – DSFS, for their meticulous planning and leadership in orchestrating the celebration.
A Patriotic Pledge for the Future
The event concluded with a powerful pledge to uphold the honor of the Tiranga and contribute to India’s continued growth. “Freedom is not just a story of the past, it’s a responsibility forever to last,” echoed the audience in unison.
