Assam: Four killed in road accident in Tinsukia
Tinsukia: In a tragic incident, four people killed in a road accident after their vehicle hit a tree near Golai terminal at Digboi in Tinsukia on Thursday night.
According to reports, after attending a marriage party in Dibrugarh they were returning back to destination, when the accident took place.
Police said the accident took place when the Tata Tiago vehicle, which was travelling from the Dibgoi side to Ledo hit a roadside tree in front of the Golai oil terminal. They were returning home after attending a marriage party.
While the driver of the vehicle and a woman died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries at Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh, said the police official.
The deceased were identified as Amrit Dutta from Jagun, Disha Gupe from Lidu Bazar, and Subhash Goope. While the injured have been identified as Sadhana Gupe and Ratan Goope.
Five persons were travelling in the car when the accident took place near Golai terminal.
Two of them have been sent to Dibrugarh for treatment and are in critical condition.
